How to Filter/Exclude one (or a few) contacts from a campaign?

Just as with including contacts in a campaign, to exclude one or multiple specific clients from any campaign you must do so in Segments. If you want to know the basics of creating a segment, learn more here.

From the main navigation bar, select Audience & Contacts then Segmentation.

Option 1: Create a new segment from scratch.

Step 1: On the right-hand side of your screen, click the create a new segmentation button in pink.

Option 2: Edit Existing Segment

Step 1: Search for the relevant segment you want to use and edit.

Step 2: Edit Segment by clicking on the pen/pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Segment box.

Option 3: Duplicate an existing segment to edit. 

If you want to leave the segment as is but create a similar segment with a few people excluded.

When you click the duplicate button this will pop up on your screen. Choose a new name and folder.

When you click the pink Duplicate Segment/Duplicar segmento button a green pop up will confirm you’ve successfully duplicated the segment and your new segment will be the first one in the list. Click on the edit button (pencil/pen).

When you are in your new or existing segment you can add the filters to exclude individual people or groups.

Step 2: Add Filters. Click the blue button + New Filter. 

If you would like to exclude anyone who has made a reservation in the last month, while including folks who have reservations before that date:

Custom Field   |   Reservation Date   |   Before   |   Date (a month before) 

If you have a list of clients who have complained or who suspended their loyalty accounts via email:

Contact Info   |   Email   |   Not Equals   |

If you want to exclude clients who made a purchase from a specific campaign:

Campaign   |   Select campaign from drop-down   |   Exclude Buyers
Once you have added all of the relevant filters to create your segment, click Save Segmentation in the upper right-hand corner.
